Jonagored is a variety of apple that is a cross between Jonathan and Red Delicious apples. It has inherited the best qualities of both parent varieties.
Apples are sized medium to large, weighing 180-230 grams with dense yellow-red skin and a waxy film that protects them from loss of texture during long-term storage. The pulp is yellowish, juicy and sweet with a pleasant sour aftertaste.
These apples have an excellent presentation, and if well stored in warehouses can last for up to 5-7 months.
